HONZA PELICHOVSKÝ
Honza (he/him/his) was born and raised in the Czech Republic even though he is a New Yorker at heart. His first introduction to the world of dance was through competitive Ballroom that kept him busy for ten years and taught him some of the most valuable lessons for life. At the age of eighteen, Honza visited the US for the first time and fell in love with everything surrounding concert dance, from ballet to flamenco, and switched his focus from competitions to the theater. Honza holds a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College, where he studied ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, and tap and had the privilege to perform repertory by Bill T.Jones, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, Desmond Richardson, and Aszure Barton as well as new works by Pedro Ruiz, Adam Barruch, Alexandra Damiani, and Loni Landon. Forever a dance student, Honza has attended Springboard Danse Montréal, Mark Morris Dance Group Intensive, Doug Varone and Dancers intensive, and several international workshops in the Czech Republic. He is a 200hr-certified yoga instructor and an enthusiastic practitioner.
Honza has had the honor to work and perform with The Met Opera, The Chase Brock Experience, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, BARE Dance Company, Hivewild, and LoudHound Movement. He danced on countless stages all across the US on the First National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof and the North American Tour of Dirty Dancing. Honza is currently residing in Charlotte, teaching dance and yoga, and performing with Baran Dance.
